Terma Group · United Arab Emirates (+206 others)
About this role
This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: Europe, European Union, EMEA, Denmark
Would you like to help transform cutting-edge AI technologies into scalable, mission-critical solutions that strengthen the security of our nation and allies? In this role, you will develop, deploy, and operate the infrastructure behind our next-generation AI sensor platform while helping bring emerging technologies into real-world operation. Come and join us!
We are facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes. As the need for rapidly deploying and scaling advanced technologies continues to increase, we are strengthening our capabilities to turn innovative solutions into reliable operational systems. Therefore, we are looking for an Experienced Platform Engineer to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.
The Terma Accelerator team has developed a number of technologies ready for implementation. We recognize, however, that the skills needed to do successful scaling, deployment, and operation of emerging technologies are different from the skillset needed to invent them. Therefore, we are building a new section of our team tasked with taking cutting edge prototypes and turning them into operational, scalable, and reliable force multipliers.
Your role as part of the team
As our new Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in operationalizing Terma’s next-generation AI sensor platform, taking cutting-edge technologies from prototype to scalable and reliable solutions. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will help develop, deploy, and operate the platform infrastructure as well as the projects connected to it.
Your team also holds the responsibility for deploying our solution from Development, to Staging and into Production. You will develop and operate the infrastructure, so maintenance, monitoring, and alerting are key elements of success.
You will become part of our Infrastructure Development team, consisting of dedicated engineers and specialists working closely with software, hardware, and infrastructure. We value collaboration, innovation, and emotional safety, creating an environment where ideas can be challenged, shared, and developed together. We care about the work we do and the people behind it.
Technical skills matter, but your mindset matters even more. We are looking for someone with a strong DevSecOps mindset and a background in software development. If you consider yourself a team player who is open-minded, execution-oriented, and motivated by solving complex problems in a dynamic environment, you could be a great addition to our team. You communicate effectively with stakeholders across disciplines, collaborate naturally in cross-functional teams, and are comfortable aligning technical solutions with both operational and business objectives.
How you will make a meaningful contribution
In this role, you will contribute to a range of tasks across your area of responsibility. Your key responsibilities include:
Helping design, develop, and mature a highly scalable and redundant platform capable of handling large data streams from multiple sensors, supporting AI/ML model training, deployment, and mission-critical operations with high performance and availability
Driving initial platform deployments and system maturation activities, proving stability and operational readiness before partially transitioning responsibility to operations
Collaborating with cross-functional teams and business development to define system requirements, establish project timelines, and ensure alignment with Terma's technical and commercial ambitions
Operate, monitor, maintain, and continuously improve the department's on-premises compute platform, which supports large-scale data storage, AI model training, and application deployment across multiple environments
Developing and maintaining architecture, design, and technical documentation, while staying current on relevant industry developments, emerging technologies, and cyber security trends.
Bring your expertise into play
To thrive in this role, we imagine that you bring some of the following qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, combined with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably as a Software Developer
Strong expertise in Virtualization and Containerization platforms, Infrastructure as Code, and the configuration, scaling, and management of Kubernetes clusters
Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform and GitOps
Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for Linux-based systems
Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strategic thinking, enabling you to set clear technical goals and drive robust, scalable solutions
Hardware design for HPC clusters, including compute, storage, and networking, is considered an advantage.
The following is considered an advantage, not a requirement:
Experience working with some Big Data frameworks or large data volumes in different Database technologies.
Most importantly, we believe diverse experiences add value to our team and organization. Therefore, we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all the above requirements.
As we are an international organization, it is important that you are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level.
