The role aims to deliver safe, buildable and economical designs in line with applicable codes, coordinates with architectural and MEP disciplines, and reviews contractor and fabricator submittals through to construction, working closely with our Design, Procurement and Project teams.
Job role functions:
•Develop structural steel concepts and perform analysis and design of steel frames, bracing systems, floors, roofs and supporting structures to approved codes and project criteria.
•Design and verify steel members and connections (bolted, welded, base plates, moment and shear connections), and review fabricator connection designs.
•Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, specifications, design basis reports and structural design models to the required stage deliverables.
•Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes / BS EN 1993, AISC) and with UAE and local authority requirements; support authority submissions and approvals.
•Assess wind, seismic, fire, vibration and robustness requirements; coordinate fire protection and corrosion protection systems for steel elements.
•Review and approve contractor and fabricator shop drawings, material submittals and method statements; resolve technical queries and RFIs promptly.
•Coordinate with architectural, MEP, civil and façade teams to resolve clashes, penetrations, loads and interfaces, using BIM and coordination tools.
