Role:Job Objective
JOB DESCRIPTION
To support GDI’s network infrastructure, secure connectivity services, and communication systems through network administration, connectivity monitoring, security control implementation, and technical support activities to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient network operations in alignment with approved IT and cybersecurity standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline from an internationally recognized university or relevant proven experience.
Minimum of 5 years of total experience in network support, connectivity services, communication systems, and network infrastructure environments within structured IT operations, preferably in the drilling or oil and gas sectors.
Good knowledge of enterprise network environments, routing and switching technologies, WAN/LAN connectivity, wireless networks, VPN services, and network monitoring tools.
Good understanding of network security controls including firewalls, proxy systems, access controls, secure connectivity solutions, infrastructure hardening, and operational cybersecurity practices.
Familiarity with telecommunications services, VSAT connectivity, structured cabling systems, IP telephony, CCTV systems, and communication infrastructure technologies.
Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues, communication failures, infrastructure incidents, and operational service disruptions within enterprise network environments.
Good understanding of preventive maintenance, operational support, infrastructure documentation, and network administration practices.
Effective communication, coordination, vendor management, and stakeholder support skills.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities related to network and communication systems.
Minimum Experience
Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):
Ability to manage multiple operational priorities, support activities, incidents, and maintenance tasks within defined timelines.
Proficiency in network monitoring tools, communication technologies, infrastructure management platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
Language proficiency: English (required).
