Role:Now Hiring | Interior Design Engineer – Design & Site Supervision
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia | Office and project sites
We are seeking an Interior Design Engineer to take projects from concept and construction drawings through fit-out and final handover. Hands-on experience supervising interior fit-out and finishing works on site is required.
Key Responsibilities
Interior design. Develop space plans, furniture layouts, mood boards, and material palettes. Produce photorealistic interior renders using 3ds Max and Corona Renderer, and present designs that reflect the client’s needs and budget.
Site measurements and construction drawings. Verify dimensions on site and prepare drawings for partitions, flooring, reflected ceiling plans, lighting, interior elevations, kitchens, bathrooms, and custom joinery.
Technical coordination. Coordinate with architectural, electrical, and mechanical teams. Verify the locations of lighting, switches, outlets, HVAC grilles, and access panels, and resolve conflicts before installation.
Materials and specifications. Prepare finish schedules and material specifications, assist with quantity takeoffs, compare supplier options, and submit samples and mock-ups for approval before procurement or installation.
Site supervision and quality control. Visit project sites regularly to check dimensions, levels, alignment, and installation quality. Inspect ceilings, flooring, wall cladding, painting, joinery, and lighting fixtures against approved drawings and samples.
Contractor and supplier coordination. Review shop drawings, respond to site queries, coordinate deliveries and installation sequences, and submit proposed changes for approval with their impact on cost and schedule.
Reporting and handover. Prepare site reports with photos, flag delays and quality issues, compile snag lists, verify corrective work, and participate in final client walkthroughs and handover.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field.
Proven experience in interior design and on-site supervision of interior fit-out projects, including inspecting work, coordinating with contractors, and resolving site issues.
Proficiency in AutoCAD for construction drawings and in 3ds Max with Corona Renderer for photorealistic interior visualization.
Must own a car, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to drive independently to project sites across Jeddah.
Practical knowledge of finishing materials, installation methods, joinery details, and fit-out sequencing.
Ability to read architectural and MEP drawings, communicate clearly with clients and contractors, and document and follow up on site decisions.
Availability to work from the office in Jeddah and visit project sites regularly. Previous project experience in Saudi Arabia is preferred.
Work Arrangements
The role combines office-based design and drawing production with regular site supervision in Jeddah. Salary, working hours, and the site visit schedule will be discussed during the interview.
