Job Purpose

To lead and manage all civil engineering activities at the project site, ensuring execution of works in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements and contractual schedules. The position is responsible for supervising engineering teams, coordinating with other disciplines and ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise civil engineering activities, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Review and approve civil engineering drawings, method statements, material submittals and technical documents.

Plan, coordinate and monitor day-to-day civil construction activities to achieve project milestones.

Provide technical guidance and support to Civil Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Piping teams.

Ensure proper execution of foundations, concrete structures, steel structures, buildings, roads, drainage and other infrastructure works.

Monitor project progress, identify technical challenges and implement corrective actions.

Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors and internal project teams for technical approvals and site requirements.

Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and approved method statements.

Monitor material requirements, manpower deployment, equipment utilization and subcontractor performance.

Review technical queries (TQs), requests for information (RFIs), site instructions and engineering changes.

Ensure implementation of HSE standards and safe working practices across all civil activities.

Participate in project progress meetings and provide regular technical and progress reports to management.

Support project planning, quantity estimation, BOQ verification and variation assessment.

Ensure timely preparation and submission of as-built drawings, inspection records and project handover documentation.

Responsibilities

Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

Master's Degree or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.

Experience & Skills

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in civil construction and engineering projects with Oil & Gas.

Minimum 5 years in a Lead Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer capacity.

Experience in oil & gas or large-scale Flowline projects.

Strong knowledge of civil construction methodologies, structural works and foundation engineering.

Good understanding of international engineering standards and project specifications.

Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office and project management tools.

Strong technical coordination, problem-solving and reporting skills.

Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.

Preferred Experience

Experience in Qatar or GCC projects.

Familiarity with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS).

Experience working with consultants, clients and EPC contractors.

About The Role

This is a Senior Software Engineer, Riyadh-based role. We are developing a product used by thousands of students every day. What we're looking for

7+ years building and operating production systems, including 2+ years shipping generative AI or agentic applications to real users.

Strong hands on engineering across the stack. TypeScript or Go on the backend, React or an equivalent framework on the frontend.

Deep applied AI experience: RAG, tool use, agentic workflows, and MCP, run in production with proper evaluation, observability, and cost control.

Hands-on experience with leading AI platforms and models such as AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, and Anthropic Claude.

Experience integrating with messy third party systems: CRMs, APIs, data exports, and everything in between.

A data driven mindset. You form hypotheses, measure results, and let evidence decide.

Deep curiosity and an eagerness to learn. AI moves fast, and you move with it.

Clear communication with technical and non technical audiences, from individual agents to business owners. This is a customer facing role. A significant share of your time will be spent working directly with customers, in person and remote.
