The Role
We are seeking a capable and service-oriented IT Support Engineer / System Administrator / Helpdesk Engineer to support our IT infrastructure, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain reliable day-to-day technology operations.
This part-time, fully remote position is suited to an experienced IT professional who can provide technical assistance, manage user accounts, monitor system performance, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to ensure effective IT support, system availability, and information security.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first-line and second-line technical support to employees and users through remote support channels.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.
Install, configure, maintain, and update computers, applications, and IT equipment.
Manage user accounts, access permissions, password resets, and system configurations.
Monitor servers, networks, and IT infrastructure to maintain system availability and performance.
Support Microsoft 365, email systems, cloud applications, and other business productivity tools.
Maintain IT documentation, technical records, asset inventories, and support ticket histories.
Coordinate system backups, software updates, security patches, and routine maintenance activities.
Identify recurring technical issues and recommend solutions to improve IT efficiency.
Escalate complex incidents to relevant technical teams or external service providers when necessary.
Support IT security practices, access controls, and internal technology policies.
Assist with IT projects, system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and technology implementations.
Requirements
Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in IT support, system administration, helpdesk operations, or a related technical role preferred.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, computer hardware, and common business applications.
Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wireless connectivity.
Experience with user account administration, system troubleshooting, and remote support tools.
Familiarity with servers, cloud platforms, endpoint management, and cybersecurity practices is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach to technical support.
Ability to prioritize support requests, work independently, and collaborate with remote teams.
Professional IT certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
