IoT & Wearables Integration Engineer (Smart Home & Agentic AI)
The Greater Change
Role:Job Title: IoT & Wearables Integration Engineer (Smart Home & Agentic AI)
Department: Engineering / Smart Home & AI Infrastructure
Location: Dubai, UAE (On-Site)
Employment Type: Full-time
About The Client
Our client is a Dubai-based real estate and hospitality developer building technology-led living environments. They are known for combining design, innovation and longevity-focused thinking. Their mission is to create homes that anticipate and adapt to the people who live in them. They are now expanding their engineering team to build an AI-driven smart home ecosystem.
About The Role
We are building an Agentic Home Framework: a next-generation smart home ecosystem that doesn't just react to voice commands, but actively anticipates, adapts and responds to human biometrics and presence in real time.
We are seeking a seasoned IoT & Wearables Integration Engineer to bridge the gap between human biological data and spatial intelligence. You will lead the architecture and integration of health data pipelines (wearables, platforms and health APIs) alongside localised micro-location technologies (Bluetooth triangulation, Wi-Fi sensing, presence detection, RFID and computer vision). Your goal is to stream multi-modal health and spatial signals into our AI agents, creating an environment that automatically adjusts lighting, climate, sound and routines based on the user's physical state.
Key Responsibilities
Wearable & Health Platform Data Pipelines
Design and maintain robust API/SDK integrations with major wearable platforms, including Apple HealthKit, Google Health Connect, Oura Cloud, Whoop, and unified health APIs (e.g., Terra API, Human API)
Process, normalise and ingest continuous biometrics (HRV, skin temperature, sleep stages, stress levels, recovery scores and blood oxygen) into our real-time agentic context engine
Implement data anonymisation, local-first storage paradigms and strict compliance standards (HIPAA / GDPR) to safeguard sensitive health metrics
Micro-Location & Spatial Sensing
Architect ambient presence systems using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) RSSI / AoA triangulation, Wi-Fi CSI sensing and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) for hyper-local room tracking
Integrate occupancy sensors, room-level RFID tracking and optical/thermal sensors to identify user presence without requiring active user input
Coordinate with hardware/vision teams to integrate edge computer vision platforms (e.g., face scanners, OpenCV, depth cameras) for zero-friction identity and mood recognition
Agentic Home Integration & Automation
Translate biological signals (e.g., elevated stress, deep sleep onset, low recovery) into actionable triggers and context payloads for home automation agents via MQTT, WebSockets or gRPC
Build edge-friendly data reduction routines (filtering noise, handling offline buffering, calculating moving baselines using Kalman filters) to prevent signal overload on downstream home AI models
