Full Stack Engineer
Q8tly
Role:Full-Stack Engineer (2-Month Contract) | SaaS Reservation Platform & WhatsApp AI
About us
Q8tly builds technology for restaurants in Kuwait. Our discovery platform, Q8tly, helps diners find restaurants. Our SaaS reservation platform helps those restaurants manage bookings, tables, waiting lists and guest communication. Guests can also book, change and cancel over WhatsApp through our AI assistant. The platform is live with real users, and we need a strong engineer for 2 months, starting immediately.
The role
This is a hands-on role. You'll write code every day and also handle the daily running of a live, multi-tenant SaaS product. You'll fix bugs, debug production issues, ship features and make sure bookings work correctly from the web app and from WhatsApp. You'll get access and context on day one and are expected to deliver in week one.
Day to day
Pick up tickets from the team board, write the code, test it and get it reviewed and merged.
Review pull requests from teammates.
Check the platform each day for errors, failed jobs and WhatsApp delivery problems, and deal with them.
Respond to bug reports and support questions from the team and from restaurants.
Join short daily check-ins with the team and give clear written updates on progress and blockers.
Prepare and verify releases with the team.
What you'll work on
Production debugging: investigate live issues from logs, errors and user reports. Find the root cause, fix it safely and confirm it's resolved in production.
Coding: build features and fix bugs across the Next.js frontend and the Python/FastAPI backend.
SaaS platform work: multi-tenant architecture, PostgreSQL, migrations, background jobs and third-party integrations.
WhatsApp Business Platform: webhooks, message templates, delivery failures and restaurant onboarding with Meta.
WhatsApp AI agent: conversation flows in Arabic and English, tool calls into our APIs, error handling and handover to staff.
Quality: test the main user journeys end to end before each release, and add tests so fixed bugs stay fixed.
Docs: short notes on what you fixed and how things work, so the team can carry on after you leave.
What we're looking for
4 to 6 years of professional software engineering, including experience working on live production systems and supporting them.
Strong debugging skills, including production debugging with logs, monitoring and database queries.
Strong Next.js, React and TypeScript.
Strong Python and FastAPI, with solid PostgreSQL skills.
Experience on a SaaS product, ideally multi-tenant.
Proven ability to join an existing codebase and ship useful fixes within days.
Experience connecting an AI assistant to real application APIs so it can take actions reliably.
Comfortable with Docker, Git, code review and CI/CD in day-to-day work.
Independent, clear communicator who flags blockers early and finishes work to a verified result.
Strong plus (we'll prioritize these candidates)
Meta Tech Provider or Embedded Signup experience, and hands-on WhatsApp Business Platform / Cloud API work. Please state exactly what you built.
Also nice to have
Restaurant or reservation systems, Arabic/English conversational apps, payment integrations.
How we work
You'll work directly with the founder and the engineering team. We provide product context, documentation and system access. You own your tasks and recommend solutions without step-by-step supervision. Access is least-privilege and removed when the contract ends. [NDA required.]
